Influenza B, or ‘B-flu’ as people call it, sounds like a playful little member of the flu family, but you must not be confused by its name. This ‘little nickname’ is a full ‘office bully’, it especially likes in the seasonal changes, temperature fluctuations out of trouble, picking crowded when everyone relaxes their vigilance ‘open carnival party! "The original atmosphere in the office is hectic.
Originally, the atmosphere in the office was busy and orderly, everyone was working hard for their own goals. However, once this ‘little bully’ arrives quietly, it begins to perform its ‘magic’. First, it touches your throat gently, making you feel a little dry and itchy, followed by a snotty nose and coughing, and finally a ‘high-temperature package’ that makes your forehead hot. In this way, the original lively, energetic you, in the ‘B flow bully’ in the ‘carnival party’ instantly become sickly ‘trouble’. Your work efficiency plummeted, your mental state is depressed, and even have to bear the surrounding people's strange eyes and avoid the attitude. All of this, thanks to the ‘B stream bully’.
Compared with its cousin, Influenza A, Influenza B has a slightly weaker spreading ability, but its symptoms are not subtle at all. It likes to ‘visit’ crowded places, such as schools, offices, public transport, etc. and spreads rapidly whenever there is an opportunity.
Stream B, this cunning virus, is always wandering around us silently, looking for the next host. The way it spreads, it's like an elaborate ‘viral adventure’. Your colleague suddenly sneezes loudly, and his nose and mouth act as a miniature jet, sending tiny droplets of the virus out like fireworks, dancing in the air as if looking for their next home. These viral droplets are like small drops of water, light and tiny, but they carry deadly viruses. As long as you are not careful to inhale this ‘poisonous fog’, then you can hit the jackpot, the virus will quietly set up camp in your body, and begin its ‘carnival’. If you inadvertently touch a contaminated doorknob, keyboard or mobile phone, the cunning virus will take advantage of the opportunity to climb on your fingers. Then, when you subconsciously touch your face or rub your eyes, those viruses will smoothly enter your body and start their ‘invasion journey’.
After contracting Stream B, you may experience a high fever, headache, general body aches, cough, sore throat and extreme fatigue. Most people will recover within a week or two, but for the elderly, children and people with weakened immune systems, B-flu can cause serious complications such as pneumonia and bronchitis.
To deal with influenza B, we have to have a set of proven preventive measures. Firstly, annual flu vaccination is the best protection. Although the vaccine cannot prevent 100% infection, it can greatly reduce the risk of infection and the severity of symptoms.
There is no need to panic if you are unfortunate enough to be infected with Stream B. Drinking plenty of water and keeping your body well-hydrated is key. If the fever and aches and pains are too much for you to bear, there are over-the-counter medications that can be used to ease the symptoms. Most importantly, try to stay at home and do not bring the virus to the office or school to avoid further spread.
Although Influenza B may come in strong, as long as we take precautions and maintain good hygiene habits, we can effectively reduce the risk of infection. Healthy living starts from every little detail, let's fight against this little bully in the office together!
